Basel III standards and liquidity determinants in Vietnamese commercial bank

This study aims to ascertain the determinants affecting liquidity of Vietnamese Commercial Banks by their bank ownership structures, CEO characteristics, and bank-specific variables. Using panel data consisting 29 commercial banks, we measure using most up-to-date method – Net Stable Funding Difference (NSFD), according Basel III standards. Correlating relationship between CEOs’ characteristics liquidity, found that CEOs with longer tenure will control better due higher managerial power entrenchment. Moreover, findings present show local market power, age, size, loan loss provision positively impact liquidity. In contrast, further investigation reveals adverse state on provides insights into prudential supervision which implications for policymakers, applying latest measurement new determinants.
